To Rock Out or Wax Off?

Do you remember my cousin, Dayna? She left the 518 for an all girl band.

I don't know why. The 518 rocked and we had this guy.

It might be because the 518 doesn't having a label yet and Dear Daddy has actual musicians in it, but most likely it's because they offered to let her play the keytar.

Rockband doesn't have a keytar. Why, Rockband, why?

From what I understand, Dear Daddy has finished recording their album (do people still say album?) and are having a show at Room 960 in Hartford CT this Friday. After that they are headed to L.A. to tour. It's pretty exciting actually.

So herein lies my ethical dilemma. Dayna invited us to come out and see her play. Thing is it's 4 hours away and doesn't end until midnight. I'd like to go, but Matt's not totally on board. Actually he went so far as to offer to let me wax his chest on Friday night if I didn't make him drive out to CT.

You know how I love to rip hair out of others.

Tell me, Bloggy Buddies, should I rock out or wax off?

I actually like the beat of the music. Most of the lyrics are okay. Well-titled...I would go to encourage Dayna. I would have to have a serious discussion about where she is in her spiritual walk, though. (If Matt doesn't want to go, is there someone else who would?)

Many thanks for stopping by my site. I have to say that four hours is too far especially if the concert doesn't end until midnight. Having said that, I am usually in bed by 9 and hate sitting in a car for more than thirty minutes. Maybe he can wax your legs.

Any chance of a hotel room instead of driving home that late? Then you could wax Matt after the concert.

I'd love to see a keytar in action, but I'm not a night owl. I'd choose waxing and early bedtime if it were me.

Dude, I totally wish RockBand had a keytar... that thing is AWESOME. And it's because of the keytar that I'm saying, yeah, you should go see her play.

I would go to support and get a room to make it a little getaway if you can. I haven't gotten to rock out in a while so let us know if you go so we can live vicariously through you.

yes, i think you must rock out
and like the pp said, get a hotel room if possible
and...maybe if you get enough drinks in you can throw in the wax off option :)

I think I'm going to pipe in with all of your devoted commenters and say, if you can procure the motel-option, dude, you should go. It'd be fun for you guys!

As for the other... there's something wrong with you.

That is all.

Really? There is no dilemma in my book. Go. See the show. When you get home, Matt will be asleep, so he won't put up a fight. You can totally do both. : )

It depends. Will you get to hang out with the microphone dude and play air keytar if you don't go? If that's the case -- no contest, stay home and wax.

It would be awesome to see her and say "i saw them before they were famous" but you'll probably be super tired the next day....of course now that you have a professional thinker, being tired wouldn't matter, so I say go for it!

Wait, will she be playing keytar at the show?! Oooohhh man, I miss the days when a 10 hour road trip for a rock show didn't require anymore thinking than "Should we stop in NY for shopping?" I think you should go, so I can live vicariously through you!
